Designed in Galway by Christy O’Connor Sr. Par 72 PGA Championship 18 hole golf course
Monday-Thursday: €35 Fridays: (Open Day) €30 on arrival or €25 through the website
Great views of beautiful Galway Bay and Galway City are everywhere throughout the course.
Located near the village of Oranmore and a mere 20 minutes from Galway city.
Although it has a commanding view of the Bay it is not a links , rather a parkland course which happens to be near the Atlantic.
There are a few trees but it is essentially an open course where winds can be a factor.
It is more like an American course because of the way it was laid out and subsequently maintained by cutting the rough off the fairways, usually untouched in most Irish courses by the ocean.
The hotel overlooks the course and Galway Bay. It is a comfortable middle of the road hotel, with two rooms dedicated to dining and a pub.
Where else to stay.
