The Dunluce course at Royal Portrush is one of the world’s best links courses
Founded in May 1888 as a nine hole course, it became the Royal County Club in 1892 and finally, Royal Portrush Golf Club in 1895, it has undergone many changes during the course of its existence.
The original nine holes were extended to eighteen by 1889, while the noted golf architect, Harry Colt, designed the present course.

Royal Portrush has hosted many major events over the years.
In July 1951 hosted the British Open Golf Championship, an event won by Max Faulkner Royal Portrush offers two fine links courses, the Dunluce Course championship links and the slightly shorter Valley Course, both offer challenges to golfers of all abilities.
The Valley course lies between the East Strand and the Dunluce golf course in Portrush, it is laid out between the huge sand hills along the Atlantic shore and the higher ground of the Dunluce course. It has lots of humps, hollows and rolling fairways to be found on any genuine links course.
